Consul General L. Jurevičienė met remotely with the Deputy Mayor of Los Angeles
On February 1 Consul General Laima Jurevičienė met remotely with Deputy Mayor of International Affairs in Los Angeles, Ambassador Nina L. Hachigian.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that in 2022 Lithuania and the United States are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Exchange of views on various issues in the Lithuanian-US relations agenda, focusing on opportunities to intensify existing cooperation between Lithuania and Los Angeles took place. Possibilities to organize visits of Lithuanian representatives to Los Angeles and visits of representatives of this city to Kaunas, which is the European Capital of Culture this year, were discussed.
During the meeting, Mrs. Consul General also elaborated on the interests of Lithuanian business in Los Angeles, the potential of Lithuanian scientific institutions, drew the attention of Mrs. Deputy Mayor to the Lithuanian diaspora in Los Angeles, existing cultural, sports, and academic ties and their development potential.
Kaunas signed a friendship agreement with Los Angeles on the occasion of the fourth World Lithuanian Games in Lithuania in 1991.
