Consul General Laima Jurevičienė visited a specialized exhibition of photonics and lasers in San Francisco

On January 26-27 Consul General of the Republic of Lithuania in Los Angeles Laima Jurevičienė together with Commercial Attaché Mantas Zamžickas  visited one of the largest exhibitions of photonics and laser industry in the USA and the world ‘Photonics West 2022’ in Mascone exhibition center in San Francisco.

Representatives of the Consulate met with 16 Lithuanian laser companies participating in the exhibition, representing Lithuania as a leader in laser technology and presenting its innovations to the world.

Mrs. Jurevičienė particularly noted that ‘Photonics West 2022’ being one of the main photonics exhibitions in the world, happening again after a pandemic one year break, this time was attended by an especially large group of Lithuanian manufacturers of laser technologies and components. The fact that even two Lithuanian companies were among the finalists in the Prism Awards nominations for the best new optics and photonics products (“Litilit” in industrial lasers category and “Direct Machining Control” (DMC) in software category) eloquently illustrates that Lithuanian companies belong to the world’s elite of such science and industry branch.

Representatives of Lithuania also met with Carlos Lee, head of the European Photonics Industry Consortium (EPIC), and discussed preparations for the EPIC Annual General Meeting in Vilnius in April.

Representatives of the Consulate as well met with Mindaugas Šatas, Chairman of the Lithuanian Community of San Francisco, Vita Gailiūnaitė, Deputy Chairman, and Dennis Lee Garrison, Honorary Consul of Lithuania in Northern California.
