Documentary film “Mr. Landsbergis” screened in Los Angeles

On March 20th the Consulate General of the Republic of Lithuania in Los Angeles, together with the Lithuanian World Arts Council and the Lithuanian American Business Association in Los Angeles, organized a screening of the documentary film “Mr. Landsbergis”.

While watching the film the gathered Lithuanians, their American friends, and representatives of the Ukrainian community had the opportunity to remember or learn new facts about Lithuania's struggle for independence, and to reflect on Russia's current aggression against peaceful Ukraine.

Consul General of the Republic of Lithuania in Los Angeles Laima Jurevičienė, congratulating the film audience, thanked everyone for providing support to Ukraine. She emphasized that the people of Ukraine are fighting for European democratic values and for both the freedom of their country and of the whole Europe. It is our duty to help them in this fight.

Guests from “Stand with Ukraine” provided information on their organization and assistance to Ukraine. Representatives of “Stand with Ukraine” thanked the Lithuanian community in Los Angeles for the already provided support, participation in the campaigns, and invited them to continue to join forces in providing aid to Ukraine.

About 100 viewers watched the film. Before and after the screening, the gathered were able to purchase Ukrainian souvenirs and film posters with Professor Vytautas Landsbergis original autograph. All ticket, souvenirs and poster sales’ proceeds will be donated to support Ukraine.
