Forget-Me-Not Meadow in Santa Monica

On January 9th, 2022 Los Angeles Lithuanians commemorated the January 13th the Day of the Defenders of Freedom by planting a meadow of several thousand Forget-Me-Not paper flowers.

For the second consecutive year, the traditional symbolic event took place along the Pacific coast almost 6,000 mi from Lithuania. Several dozen Lithuanians and Lithuania’s friends living in the Los Angeles area visited the ‘Forget-Me-Not Meadow’, planted flowers, and wrote their wishes for Lithuania.

The ‘Forget-Me-Not Meadow’ proves that love for Lithuania is strong among the Lithuanians on the West Coast. Lithuanians in the United States remember why we are free.
