Reproductions of Lithuanian artist Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis’ paintings (https://ciurlionis.eu/en/gallery/painting) will be shown alongside SBCC students’ artwork and the textile project Čiurlionis’ Beloved Ones, created by Vilnius Academy of Arts Professor Jolanta Talaikytė and her first-year students from Lithuania.

Join us for a Lithuanian Cultural Evening at Santa Barbara City College on Wednesday, March 11, hosted by the Office of the President at SBCC in partnership with the Consulate General of the Republic of Lithuania in Los Angeles and the Honorary Consulate General of the Republic of Lithuania for California’s Central Coast.
The evening highlights the work of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis, a pioneering European painter and composer whose art connects music and visual imagery. Lithuania recently marked the 150th anniversary of his birth, and we also commemorate March 11, 1990 — the restoration of Lithuania’s independence.
