On Europe Day, the EU Consuls General and Honorary Consuls met with the Mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass

On 9 May, Consul General Laima Jurevičienė together with the European Union Consuls General and Honorary Consuls met with the Mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass. Erin Bromaghim, the Deputy Mayor of International Affairs also attended the meeting.

The close cooperation between the EU and the United States and its importance, solidarity with Ukraine and comprehensive support for Ukrainians were discussed during the meeting organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of Lithuania in Los Angeles.

Consul General L. Jurevičienė acting as EU local Chair in Los Angeles during the Sweden‘s Presidency of the Council of the EU noted that the cooperation between the EU and the United States is based on a long history of close partnership and common values. Today, the partnership is focused on promoting economic growth, strengthening the security and defense, digital innovations, advancing democratic values. The development plan of Los Angeles city, the vision of the future and questions on how diplomatic corps together with its communities could contribute to make the city stronger, healthier and safer for everybody were discussed during the meeting.

It was also welcomed that Los Angeles city continues to remain open to international cooperation with the EU and its Member States.
